Barton Firtop Engineering Co Limited was originally based in Clydebank, Scotland in the early 1900's and were world renowned as winch manufacturers.
In 1973 the Company was re-established at the present premises in Bromsgrove, Worcestershire, England and took over the designs and manufactures of its associate company G & A Firkins Ltd, manufacturers of the widely acclaimed 'Firtop' range of filters and strainers.
In 1985 the management of the Company underwent a major restructuring programme and the decision was made to discontinue the winch deck machinery side of the business and to focus on the Filter and Strainer product lines, in which we now have over 50 years of experience.

Today we are a competitive Designer, Manufacturer and Supplier of Strainers, Filters, Separators, Coalescers & Flame Arresters, predominantly for the Oil & Gas Industry.
We are experts in project design and project management, focused to achieve on-time delivery of strainer and filtration equipment to meet complex project specifications for materials, manufacture, NDE, documentation and Quality Control.
We have in house experts and software for 3D Modelling, Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and can design and certify to ASME VIII Div 1 / PD 5500 pressure vessel codes with both fabricated and highly competitive cast designs.
Barton Firtop has built up a stock of Y-Type, Basket and Duplex Strainers exceeding £2Million and are now one of the largest stock holders world-wide for strainer and filters. Our stock range starts at 15mm (½")NB and our largest units from stock are up to 600mm(24")NB line size.
Stock and project specific Materials available include Carbon Steel / Low Temp Carbon Steel and alloys range from Stainless Steel to Duplex SS, Super Duplex SS, 6Mo, Titanium and Nickel Alloys (Alloy 625 & 825).

We now have two manufacturing plants in the Midlands (UK) our head office where our mainline equipment is manufactured and a wholly owned pipework / vessel fabrication facility RGR Fabricating & Welding Services Limited and we also wholly own a competitive manufacturing plant based in Goa in India which provides fully machined and tested cast products sourced from high quality ISO approved foundries in India.
